Kuala Lumpur – KLCC
During Justyna’s visit in Bangkok, We decided to take a weekend trip to Kuala Lumpur. The plan was simple: Rest in a hotel with a rooftop infinity swimming pool with view on the Petronas Towers and explore Batu Caves.
The flight from Bangkok with AirAsia was very pleasant and lasted only 2 hours and 15 minutes. On the way to the DMK airport, we came to the Chatuchak market. (Attractions of Bangkok will be in a separate entry, How to get to DMK Airport in Bangkok).
After landing at the KLIA2 airport, we used the train which took us directly to the central station station in Kuala Lumpur – KL sentral. Costs 55RM one way or round trip 100RM.
In the evening we visited the park at the foot of the towers. We came just to the show of fountains to the accompaniment of music.
Infinity pool with view on Petronas Towers At Kuala Lumpur
We lived in the five-star The Face Suites, where our over 80-meter apartment cost only 401 MYR. On the top floor 51 there was a infinity pool with a view in front of the Petronas Towers, which was available to all guests.
While in the evening there were quite a lot of people at the pool and it was hard to get good photos, at dawn there were only 5 people (including us). On the same floor there is a restaurant where breakfasts are served to hotel guests. Served portions were really big and we did not complain about the quality of the dishes.
After breakfast to check out, we rested over the tops of skyscrapers, catching some sun.
Batu Caves
Batu Caves are located in the north of Kuala Lumpur. In the middle is a Hindu temple. There are steep stairs leading to the cave, and the entrance is guarded by a large gilded statue. Everywhere you can meet monkeys who are just lurking to hunt something from tourists. Admission to the caves is free, and you can get there by train departing from KL sentral. A train ticket costs only 2RM! the journey takes 30min.
On the spot there is the possibility of entering a deeper system of caves (Dark Cave) with a guide and a larger group of people. (Of course, after paying the appropriate fee). Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to do it. In the meantime, we waited at the end of a tropical downpour that lasted about 30 minutes. As the time chased us a bit, we got back by train to KL Sentral and from there straight to the airport.
