Chatuchak Weekend Market
If you want to bring souvenirs from Bangkok and you’re just here at the weekend – Chatuchak Weekend Market is the place for you. It is the largest weekend market in the world with an area of 35 acres. Every weekend, over 200,000 people are visiting over 15,000 exhibitors. You can get here everything your heart desires. If you can bargain, you can negotiate prices up to 50% lower than starting prices.
As I mentioned earlier on Chatuchak Weekend Market you can get anything. Including animals that are kept there in tight and multi-level cages.
Chatuchak Park
The Chatuchak Park stretches past the Market Square, which is the second most visited park in Bangkok after Lumpini. The perfect place for a Sunday picnic or rest after shopping in the market
Localization
Chatuchak is located at the final station, BTS Sukhumvit Line – Mo Chit. You can also get here by metro MRT – Chatuchak station. The A1 and A4 buses run from the Mo Chit station to the DMK Don Mueang airport.
MBK Center
However, if you are not visiting Bangkok during the weekend then you can go to the MBK shopping center, which is located in the very center between the BTS National Stadium and Siam stations. MBK is more like a multi-story market with content-related traders from China and not like a shopping mall. At the entrance, you can even get a small brochure with a map of the stands so as not to get lost.
If you feel like “civilized” shopping in conditions that resemble those of European shopping malls, then in the center of Bangkok you will find: Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery and Central World
